Please let me share a short history and how I arrived in the travel industry as an agent and advisor. I've been in love with travel my whole life, from traveling with family to great destinations across the United States as a child. I was also fortunate enough to travel around playing golf, going to amusement parks such as Six Flags over Georgia and Texas, to Astro World in Houston and Kings Island in Ohio.
I joined the United States Air Force and served 20 years honorably, retiring after an amazing and rewarding career in Air Traffic Control. During those twenty years, my family and I were able to visit many destinations which have provided so many pleasant memories. Upon retirement, we continued our travels, primarily within the Continental US and also on cruises to Mexico and the Caribbean. This is when I found myself in my true environment and decided to continue traveling and also to help others in their travels and share the pleasure we've had and the knowledge I've gained in seeing the world.
Phareway Travels was opened as both a beacon of guidance with fair prices for clients to realize journeys and vacations they will experience that will continually satisfy. We, as an agency, specialize in cruises and all-inclusive vacations, but that's not all. Through my experiences, we really want to be your agent or advisor, planning luxury vacations for pleasure and sport, so the whole family will have activities available to them with the finest dining and shopping experiences one can imagine.
I have developed relationships with the help of my host, that enables us to run a great agency, plus the opportunity to develop relationships with suppliers of outstanding brands for air, sea and land transportation, accommodations and all there is for the traveler to enjoy. These relationships with suppliers have enabled me to attend in person and online training events, providing me the knowledge and confidence to declare myself an expert with their brand. We recently traveled to Jamaica, for a stay at Sandal's Dunn's River Resort and had an amazing time. The flight from MSY in New Orleans was seamless with a short layover in Fort Lauderdale to change planes and fly to our final destination, Montego bay, Jamaica. Club Mobay was the ticket to a quick arrival and getting through immigration quickly and efficiently. The Sandal's reception center at the airport was refreshing with them providing a cold drink and snack while awaiting our shuttle to the resort.
Upon arriving at the resort we were welcomed home with class, the staff provided a cool refreshing hand towel and beverage. Sandals has a unique way of being spot on when serving their guest. We were checked in and guided to our room by one of the most pleasant individuals. He was very detailed and informative with everything we needed to know to begin our four night stay. The room in the Travertine Beachfront Club Level Room with it's Balcony Tranquility soaking tub was immaculate, offering views of the turquoise sea and resort pool. Imagine being on the balcony in the soaking tub or lounging on the bistro dining set enjoying the views with a cool drink and fruit platter, amazing!
I will try to present a picture of our room and what Sandal's offers in the perfected layout. The furnishing were elegant with a king-sized bed, smart tv, and a seating area with love seat for peaceful and romantic relaxation. The walk-in shower was huge and were able to enjoy a double sink and vanity, ensuring we had plenty of space when preparing to go out.
Speaking of going out, the resort offers 12 restaurants with Caribbean, Greek, Italian, French, Asian and Latin Fusion cuisine. There was plenty of common American dishes also available. If that's not enough choices to eat, you can also catch a shuttle to the Ocho Rios resort where they offer an additional 16 places to eat. Dunn's River offers 9 cocktail lounges and bars for you can quench your thirst with both adult and non-alcoholic drink selections. A favorite hangout was the Rum Bar where there are upwards of 30 different rums available, a pirates dream come true.
We topped off our trip at the Upton Estates Golf and Country Club, with several rounds of golf on a great layout in immaculate condition and pristine views. We took no equipment with us and all was provided, some at a small cost. The caddies are awesome and meet with expert advice on where to play your shot or putting line.
Finally, taking the transportation provided back to Montego Bay, where we spent an additional three night at the Sandal's Royal Carribean resort with access to Sandal's Montego Bay is a whole different experience. Staying at multiple resorts is definitely recommended and I'll provide additional stories in the future.
